Nancy Sobhy Bolous, MD, MA, MSc, integrates a strong clinical background with extensive expertise in health economics, research, and teaching. Her career includes positions at top-ranked institutions such as The Children Cancer Hospital Egypt 57357, IQVIA, an international consulting firm, and currently St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in the U.S. Her roles have ranged from hands-on project management—such as serving as an interim general manager of a rural medical center in Egypt with over 100 employees—to delivering consulting services for health ministries across Africa and the Middle East, and conducting health economics research at a leading U.S. academic institution.
At St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, Nancy holds dual appointments: as an Instructor in the Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences, where she teaches Health Economics in the Global Child Health Master’s Program, and as a Senior Research Scientist in the Department of Global Pediatric Medicine. In her research role, she focuses on costing and cost-effectiveness analysis of medical interventions in hematology and oncology. Nancy’s research projects focus on generating evidence to advocate for the equitable allocation of resources for diseases that were previously considered unaffordable. Her work spans multiple geographic regions and involves collaboration with various stakeholders, including the World Health Organization, local institutions, and governmental bodies. She joined St. Jude from Cairo, Egypt, where she worked as a project manager on various healthcare projects on a national and international scale.
After completing her training as a physician in Cairo, Nancy pursued a double degree master’s program called the European Healthcare Economics and Management Program (Eu-HEM) in which she studied and lived in three European countries, The University of Bologna in Italy, Erasmus University of Rotterdam in The Netherlands and Management Center Innsbruck in Austria, over two years, and earned an MA and an MSc by the end of the program.
