Joaquín Calatayud, MSc, PhD (Sport Sciences), CSCS*D, NSCA-CPT*D. Associate Professor at the Faculty of Physiotherapy of the University of Valencia.
Director of the "Exercice Intervention for Health – Research Group" (EXINH). He is the author of more than 160 JCR-indexed articles (H-Index 29) and more than 70 publications in national and international conferences. He has been a member of the scientific and organizing committees for various national and international congresses, and served as a reviewer and associate editor for various journals indexed in the Journal Citation Reports (JCR). Over the past seven years, he has supervised four doctoral theses and is currently supervising six doctoral theses in progress. He has participated in different research projects funded by both public and private entities. He has held two research contracts: one as a Junior Postdoctoral Researcher leading a privately funded project at the Faculty of Physiotherapy (University of Valencia) and another as an "Assistant Researcher" at The National Research Centre for the Working Environment" (Copenhagen, Denmark). He has accumulated over one year of international research stays. He has been awarded the Caballé-Gomar Prize, which recognizes the best publication from the Department of Physiotherapy, as well as the 1st National Surgery Award in 2018 for the best surgical research article published during 2017 in international journals. He currently leads several ongoing randomized controlled trials focusing on the effectiveness of different forms of physical exercise in patients with chronic pathologies.
