Ali Eshghi
PhD Candidate in Health Psychology | Clinical Health Psychologist | Palliative Care Specialist
I am a PhD candidate in Health Psychology at the University of Tehran, where I also completed my Bachelor's and Master’s degrees in Clinical Psychology. My expertise includes Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and psychological interventions for chronic illnesses, particularly in palliative and supportive care.
For the past three years, I have worked as a Clinical Health Psychologist at the Comprehensive Center for Children with Hemophilia (MCCCH) at Mofid Children's Hospital in Tehran, affiliated with Shahid Beheshti University of Medical Sciences. My work involves conducting qualitative research on the psychological experiences of parents of children with hemophilia and providing CBT and ACT-based psychological support to patients and their families.
Additionally, I am a researcher at the Pediatric Congenital Hematologic Disorders Research Center, focusing on chronic hematologic disorders in children.
I contribute to healthcare policies as a committee member at the Iranian Ministry of Health, where I develop culturally adapted psychological guidelines. In 2023, I completed a 70-hour psycho-oncology training program at the Center for Excellence in Medical Sciences, Tehran University of Medical Sciences, and the Iranian Cancer Patients' Charity. Since 2021, I have been engaged in formulating culture-sensitive palliative care guidelines and leading CBT and ACT training programs at Mofid Children's Hospital.
I have authored multiple studies on the psychological and social challenges of families with children suffering from hemophilia, published in respected peer-reviewed journals such as the Journal of Haemophilia Practice and Research and Practice in Thrombosis and Haemostasis. My research has been presented at major international conferences, including the European Association for Haemophilia and Allied Disorders (EAHAD), the International Society on Thrombosis and Haemostasis (ISTH), and the Haemophilia Congress in the UK, Canada, Germany, and the upcoming 2025 Haemophilia Congress.
