Christoph Königs is the head of the Pediatric Coagulation Center in Frankfurt, Germany, which he joined in 2002.
The clinical and research group focuses on clinical care and research to improve patient relevant outcome for young patients living with hemophilia with or without inhibitors. His research group focuses on coagulation disorders especially on improving and developing novel therapies, understanding the immune response to coagulation factors and the development of alternative treatments for people living with hemophilia and inhibitors. The group conducts basic research, clinical trials and collect real world evidence in hemophilia.
Christoph received his medical education and training at the Goethe University in Frankfurt, and his science degree and education at Monash University in Melbourne. He has specialized in Pediatrics and hemostasis. He received his “Habilitation” in 2022. He is a member of several national and international patient and scientific societies and committees. He co-leads the hemophilia commission of the Society for Thrombosis and Hemostasis research (GTH), the medical advisory council of the German Hemophilia Society (DHG) and is a member of the medical advisory group of the European Hemophilia Consortium. He co-leads the national registry on children and teenagers with newly diagnosed children with hemophilia in Germany.
