Karl serves as the Treasurer of Haemophilia New Zealand. He has severe Haemophilia A and has been an active member of the Haemophilia community from a young age. Karl is an alumnus of the SURO and AFFIRM programmes and was a 2010 WFH Youth Fellow.
In 2012, Karl established and chaired New Zealand's national Youth Committee and has since held various positions within HNZ at both the board and regional chapter levels. He is currently supporting an NMO Twinning between New Zealand and Fiji and was a member of the 2025 CCS PWBD committee.
Karl holds a Degree in Applied Management, with majors in Operations and Production, and Project Management. He works as an Operations Manager in Christchurch, where he resides with his wife, Lisa, and their two children, one of whom is a symptomatic carrier.
